what happened was this...was shooting and advancing, fired 10 shots (which left 1 in the chamber, but with a empty mag), while behind cover, performed a reload and left empty mag on the floor , was then called the procedural for not relaoding with retention. my understanding was that, as long as the mag was empty , you where able to leave it...if i am wrong please correct me !!..i have no hard feelings whatsoever, i just want to know for sure for next time.
You must shoot to slide lock (or if your pistol doesn't shoot to slide lock but is on an empty chamber) to be able to perform an emergency reload.
All others (mags partially filled, or mag empty, but round in chamber) require a reload with retention or a tactical reload.
So, if your mag was empty but had one in the spout, and you left your mag behind, one procedural penalty would be incured.
