I received permission to hunt this property earlier this year but haven't had much time to scout it, but I have found some info on it. Today while walking along a trail I busted a nice buck and doe, but they were gone before there was any chance of a shot. So after checking the area out a bit more I found a large area of brush covered flatland that they bed down in. I'm hunting alone this week (muzzle loader season), and am wondering what is the best way to hunt this area. I was debating on coming in from the north at first light and flushing them south (hopefully), and then wait in my blind for them to return. I don't know where they feed, but there is cornfield still standing to the south. Is this a good idea or is it better for me to set up on the south ridge beside the bedding area before legal light and hope to see em that way?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
