Made a rookie mistake as I am a rookie and pulled one loaded round of 43 grains of imr 4350 and dumped it in error into 1 pound of reloader 22😁. Should I dump the reloader 22. All 1 pound of it. Not sure. Checked the reloading burn charts and they do burn at different rates.

since they are fairly close, i would be inclined to use it after shaking it up really good.

otherwise if you haven't mixed it at all, skim the top of the bottle and discard (i would burn it :)) it.

use at your own risk of course.

43 grains into 7500 grains .. That's like 1 grain to 150 grains if you give it a shake up it'll be fine ... Use at your own risk of course

7000 grains in 1lb. regardless it works out to .61% I'm sure the same powder made by the same company would vary in many respects more than .61% between batches. I wouldn't worry about it.

You should only have 1# of powder out at a time on or near your reloading bench at any time. It prevents situations like this or using the wrong powder.

Shake and shoot.

But learn the lesson. One bottle out at a time. Next time you might dump a powder thrower of pistol powder in a rifle can and not notice. A common and proven way to blow up a gun.

If the powder has been poured back into the RL22 container I don't think you are going to skim anything of the top. The powder is already all mixed up. While 4350 is a little faster it is not a great deal. When you load RL22 are you loading MAx charges in whatever calibre you are loading? If you are down a grain or two from MAX I wouldn't worry about it. Just a small suggestion to help prevent a re-occurance. When I take a can of powder out of my powder cupboard to start reloading,I make sure I have only ONE can on the bench. That can stays there until I am all finished and put any unused powder back in that can. No other can to mix anything up. If I have bullets to pull and powder to salvage I get the powder container out and put it on the bench before I start. Less chance to mix stuff up.

Couldn't remember off hand .. In any case 100/1 I'd still go for it
Wow! Why don't just keep trying??? You were closer to the ratio the first time. The ratio is much closer to 162:1. Simple math at 100:1 would give you 4300gr. That right there is less than a pound... Remind me not to get you to do the math for my reloading...

Don't lose track of the fact that you are only talking about what, $35.00?

If you don't want to mix the small amount of 4350 into the rest of the powder, dump it. I spent more than that on lunch for my wife and I today.

that's boring! burn it!

I have no intention of loading max charges. This all result of pulling an bullet. Thanks for all the responses. This was a pretty rookie mistake. And I am not going to burn the top layer.
