Rookie mistake. Dumped a 43 grain if imr 4350 into reloader 22

The curious Cat wants to know WHY would you want to do that. Mixing different powders??? Wouldn't even mix old and new batch.
What do you guys think if I dump the last couple hundred grains of imr 4350 into the new jug of h4350 is this going to be a bad idea

I didn't do it I was just wondering if they were the same. As far as old and new powders what's wrong with mixing them? I have herd of people taking 2 or 3 jugs of powder if they can't get the same lot and mixing them all together so they get no differences between cans

it's likely harmless mixing difference batch's of the same powder, but generally it's not good practice. never mix different brands/models, etc though.

Redneckchris. Add the small amount to the new jug, shake well and carry on.

It is quite common to take quantities of powders and to combine them into one large lot so the result is a useful supply of powder. I once cleaned up my powder bunker and collected about 60 pounds of oddnends of 4895. the result was a supply of powder that would last for awhile. Small lots would mean re-developing loads - something I dislike.

So long as your mixture is homogeneous, you have a useful jug of powder. The minor variation because of the mix is less than the lot to lot variation in canister powders and much less than the variation in powders as they dry out over time.

I did mix different lots of the same powder to have an homogenous batch of powder too, but the Q Redneckchris asked is for two DIFFERENT powders: H-4350 and IMR-4350
