Rooster33 gonna offer LW conversions? PIX

Once again kev. You are not armed with all of the bennies.

If you have not noticed the US Army does issue carbines.

I am not here to pitch medicine. We don't have to do any of this for Canadian shooters. As mentioned before, there is hardly a market for this there. Despite this, I want to do it for those that want one and rooster wants to offer it. I pressed the issue with PLW, and I will follow through with it. For the civvy and LE market in the US, Microbest manufactures 17,000 carriers a month, they indicate to me that if they doubled that, there would still be demand they could not meet. That is a good judge of just how large the market is. So, that keeps us plenty busy.

Once again Internet intelligence has not served you well. You are not armed with the facts as some of the other guys here are having examined and shot them. I rarely even chime in on DI vs. Piston threads anymore because there are so many DI experts out there who have no clue about piston guns other than what they read on the internet. Theory and more theory. Experts passing on their theory as gospel from one to the next.

I know....you are underwhelmed. A little piss in my cheerio's is OK with me. I have lost the vigor in the fight with DI ludites and lately have been having trouble keeping up with the internet stuff anyway as we are extremely busy. I did take the opportunity over the past 2 nights of posting some pics from Shot Show. No more theoretical argument from me. You have an open invite to shoot them, examine them, have the engineering and bennies explained. Then we will both be armed with the same information and can actually discuss pro's and con's. Until then I don't care to argue about it further.

This is not a Colt 1020, not an HK 416, not a POF. They are all different and have pro's and cons.

Regardless, Rooster33 is a great guy, and I will do what I can to help make this happen.

Oh, and Kev....there is a reason the directorate of ARDEC spent the whole afternoon shooting with us. There is a reason the Gunny of USMC warfighting lab and his follow on spent the afternoon with us. There is a reason spooks from around the country and the world were there. Sigh.....whippedy do!

Hint IM-SRR. Hint IAR. etc.

Man I sound like a pompous ass. Apologies all around. You must meet pompousity with more pompousity. It is the way of the internet ninja.

A year of banging my head against the wall has taken its toll. I don't have to do it anymore, but every now and again I throw a crainial thrust in just for old times sake.

Kev, will hook you up when you arrive in FLA.

48th excellent post and no need for any sorry's. Your an asset to this forum and it takes alot of balls to not only try to get this product out here in Canada, but even leave a Canadian do it themselves under agreement or whatever. It helps us who arent willing to sell out what our motherland for greener pastures (and dollars) over the border.

I personaly do not have any experience with piston AR's and will be more then glad to give one a try someday.

Thanks Scarecrow. I didn't really sell out for dollars (I know you are not intimating that I did). There just was not a job for me in Canada when I graduated University. I also was having trouble fitting in with the Liberals in Ontario.

It hard for me to look back at such a beautiful place, with such a strong and proud history and great people and see from the outside what is happening to that history and freedom so many Canadian's died for. Maybe it was just where I was raised and lived. I guess the same thing is happening here.

Apart from this board and maybe western Canada, I just don't fit in there anymore and it tears me up. Hell, I am the VP of Manufacturing of an ARMS manufacturer and owner of another. You can imagine how nicely that goes over in Ontario when I visit?

Scarecrow - GO #### YOURSELF - Canada sold me out...

48th - I have a G19 and a M4A1 at work, and its not CONUS ;)

I did not intend to bash the piston specifically the LW system. I've spoke to a few friends in CAG who sign the praise of pistons. MARSOC guys have been singing about the accuracy of the Hk417 (with its piston) over similarly equipt SR25/AR10T systems.
However since a number of people have carried C7's and C8's on combat operations - I feel qualified to say that both my C8SFW and now Colt M4A1 are not underselling me.

Doorkicking roles that require short suppressed guns - where the piston rules - are not ubiquious. I would never sell any soldier short in equiptment acquisition and I wish you well on equiping those you can.

However civilians that seem to think they NEED a piston are RTFO - as are 80%+ of the Army (granted I feel for the guys with M16A2's and A4' lugging that 2x4 around) - despite the desire to emulate certain USASOC elements - they have no requirements.

Anyway in closing:
I'm already in Fla as a perm residence - I will be back in April and T up with you for a factory SBR ;)

They let you visit?;)

From the pictures it looks like the 308 model is the same length as the carbine piston. Does this mean that you need a new barrel if your going to be doing this conversion on a traditional AR10? Also is it an Armalite? SR25?

BTW, that 308 gun shoots with the recoil of a .223 and is almost hollyweird quiet. Titanum Jet cans are the cats ass.

I'll vouch for that. I was lucky enough to be invited to the Lietner-Wise shoot also. The semi 308 AR-10 was at the far left end of the line. I glanced at it briefly, and thought it was an AR-15 of some sort, in .223/5.56x45mm.
It sounds like a .22 rimfire when it fires. So once I realized it was actually .308/7.62x51mm, I was REALLY impressed!

Thanks once again for the opportunity, Paul

BTW Paul Lietner-Wise once lived in Toronto for a couple of years, so he knows of Canada.
