Ross Cadet sight

I picked this up this past summer. The rear sight was seized and the "lollipop" broken off. I got the sight unseized and working. I made a new "lollipop" for it. I have seen pics of these rifles with just the lollipop as the aperture and I have seen pics where there is another removable aperture screwed into the center of the lollipop. Would that have just been someone's modification or should there be a removable aperture? Most of the pics show it without so I'm guessing the removable aperture is a modification. Below is the way I have it now with just a hole in the center of the lollipop.

Ross catalogues show just the aperture, otherwise would be after market alteration.

And nice Cadet. A commercial version, or are there markings on the buttstock? Lovely little tack drivers. While it's a shame that the government chose to de-mil the cadets by smashing the buttstock, it was at least repairable. My own, a commercial, suffered that fate, but I'm still happy to have an example.

It's a commercial version as there are no markings on the stock.
