Ross M1910 bolt disassembly.

I'm looking at several M10 bolts and 1 does have spline difficulties. Can see how these could be reassembled wrong due to ease of some bolts reassembling incorrectly. At first glance extractor is a good warning-but not to someone unaware at how that bolt head works. As your pics show non extended bolt head holds extractor and can be closed, but not locked, in action!
20 yrs ago on the range I inspected a man's M10 for it was first time he fired it. After giving the okay, I fired the M10 first, they are good rifles.
Thanks for this great step by step lesson with very good pictures.

Thank you, I own a pair of sporterized m1910s. Sadly ive lost the stock and triger gaurd and screws for one of them. I've never taken the bolt apart and I'm pretty sure they've both been pinned.

Hi Tritowns,
Numrich in the US actually has a bunch of Ross parts if you're trying to piece that rifle back together. They don't have much but last time I was on they had a trigger guard and some of the screws. No stock of course. I stumbled across a MK II middle band that they had a couple years ago. Good luck!

Hi I thought I should add to this post that 375 Ruger brass is the best brass I have ever resized to make 280 Ross. It can be formed using nothing but the 280 FL sizing die but take it slow keep applying lube every 1/8 of an inch as you size. The best lube I have found for this prosses is the Lee case forming lube it's in a white tube. I've only had 2 stuck cases and that was from going to fast and not lubing in enough steps. 300 win mag brass also works good but doesn't last vary long. Hope this helps someone I've had alot of fun getting everything together and testing different methods to make ammo for my 280 Ross.
