Ross Mark 1

As the fellows said, it all depends. I have one here that most likely is not worth even that $100 guess. One in superb condition, with a good bore, likely will go 2 grand or better. I saw a nice one about 8 years ago, went for $1600 then, would doubtless go for much more now. It was rather cherry, though.

If you can provide us some good photographs, right and left side, close-ups of the receiver markings and the action, butt markings, somebody will be able to make a ball-park evaluation.

After that, it's between the buyer and the seller..... and generally they tell no tales.

Hope this helps.

BTW, I note the very low post count. Welcome aboard!

Easily above $800, maybe higher. Complete Ross rifles in ANY condition are incredibly hard to find. Complete 1905s are even harder. You are missing the front hood however.

It is a MkI*. Original MkI is very scarce. Appears to be machine screw in the front of the bolt, not original.

It's missing the front sight hood. That is a beautiful rifle, you are very lucky. Also if you are going to class a Ross by year of design rather than mark, that one is a 1903 not 1905. I have a MkI* as well but mine is not complete and is no where near as nice as yours.
