Ross question

Hi all, are the DCP markings on the Ross 1910 on most of them or are they something special? This piece has been sportered (bbl 24.5") but the action's in spanky shape so I wondered if DCP on receiver could add desirability as a desporter action donor candidate? Thanks in advance

Every Ross will be Dominion of Canada Prood marked, as they were all made and proofed in Canada. As for adding value, nothing adds value to a sportered Ross, though missing parts, poor condition and modifications can reduce value. $200 - $300 is a good price for a decent sporterized Ross.

DCP Proof is found on just about every Canadian made military rifle. As far as I've been able to find out, they were proofed right in the factory(s).

BTW, OP, are those water droplets on your rifle? Was it raining at the time or was that to make a more interesting picture?

If the bore is in as good of shape as the exterior, you have a nice sporter.

Thanks and yes it's a little wet and wild out there today and I prefer outdoor light for photos. I've sold three or four Ross sporters in here but this is the nicest...just wanted to make sure the markings weren't special due to the desportering that's picked up in recent years
