It's an original, spine is delicate, so I can't force it too flat without destroying it.

Well, no wonder front sight hood placement is all confused!

Page 21.... (Picture #24) Line 35. "Slope towards muzzle" (at least it looks like muzzle.... blury)

BUT

On the picture on page 29? Picture #32, you can see the sight hood is on backwards, with slope towards receiver.
