Ross Rifle value

My father is interested in possibly selling a Ross rifle that he has owned for quite awhile. I don't really know enough about them to help him with a value for it so was hoping some of our resident Ross Rifle Buffs could help out. As you can see from the picture it was Bubba'd before he bought it for $50.00 about 30 years ago. The markings on it are on the chamber "Ross Rifle Co. Canada, M-10, Patented". On the barrel is "303 Nitroproffed, not english made". It also has a proof mark a crown over D, C, P. There are no serial numbers etc that I saw. The bore looks good, the finish has a patina to it with some pitting on the bolt and on the chamber area. Me and my wife both shot it at the range today and lived to tell about it.

I don't know alot about the diff. models/variations of Ross rifles but we have a couple on the shelf that are listed for $250 and they remain not sold. It may be a regional thing but, not much interest in the Ross here. A used '94 in 30/30 will sell much quicker and for more money here, probably not what you wanted to hear!
 
When I first saw the photo, I thought the rifle might be a candidate for restoration, and the noecap is there. But it seems that the forend has been slimmed down, as well as being cut. This would make restoration problematic. At least the barrel has not been shortened.
Unfortunately, the rifle does not have much value. As ben hunchak mentionned, at $250, they tend to sit.
 
You mentionned that the bore looked "good". If the bore were truly outstanding, the rifle could bring more than the $150 or so that sported Rosses tend to sell for. If I had a Mk. III service rifle with a poor bore, and a sported one with a really fine bore came along, I would be inclined to get for the barrelled action.
