Just bought a Rossi in 44 magnum ,lever action.Anybody shoot one? What do you feed it and what kind of accuracy is to be expected?thanks:wave:

Picked up a Rossi Puma (model 92) in 45 "Long" Colt from a forum member a couple of weeks ago. AFAIC, it appears to be a well-made and easy-handling little rifle!

Having had only one range visit with this rifle, my '92 is shooting 3"-4" groups at 100 yards, off the bench (with 300 grain Hornady XTP's). That's not too shabby, considering the somewhat coarse iron sights. (Should be just fine for whitetailed deer in the bush.:) )

I suspect that your .44 will be a very decent shooter.

Thanks ,mine is also the Puma model.Someone mounted a side mounted Bushnell and I haven't decided yet to leave it or remove it.

I had an early Puma with the cat on the side. It was a .44 mag. Shot very well and grouped Remington 240 soft points the best. It was not very smooth but I had been spoiled by a Browning B92. It will last a lifetime and give you good service.

I have an older model with the Puma head on the side as well in 44 Mag.
Like A-Zone shot 3" at 100 yards with 240 Gr. Remington. I wasn't expected that good results with the cheap irons on it so I was very impressed. I've had it for 15 years and have no plans of ever selling it.

I set up a 20" Steel plate that I hang at 200 yards and practice off hand shooting, loads of cheap fun.

I put a lyman tang sight on mine and it shot very nice, feeds smooth as well and I have not ever jammed it,more than I can say for my marlin which jammed a few times when I first got it.

What would a 44mag with the cats head on the reciver 10-15 years old in good condition be worth? I was offered one today.
