Rossi 92 44 mag

Or is the store closed for inventory count? Not sure. I own several puma lever actions, they are good guns.
 
I have one in 16 inch and it is a hoot and a holler. :) Pretty mild to shoot, i'd imagine the 20 and 24 inch barrel versions (especially the octogon) would be even milder.

And the 44 mag is a wonderfully destructive cartridge for a pistol round :)

Insanely so. They're just a pleasure to shoot. Especially if you slick them up like steve of steve's guns shows you how to do in his videos. And even the kids can shoot them.

I had a youngster up at the range last year (he was 13 i believe). He and his father were just thinking about getting into shooting and they wanted to try some guns. A buddy came up with us and brought some of his toys (ar's, pistols) and i brought mine (22's, 44 mag rossi, a few others) that we thought he might be able to shoot.

He wound up putting the most rounds thru the rossi. At first i wasn't sure he'd handle the recoil but there was NO stopping him once he got going. Burned thru more than a box of ammo himself, the little bugger :) A 357 would be even more easy for a kid to shoot.

I know that's not a consideration for a lot of people, but there's just nothing like letting a youth or a new shooter have fun with your toys.

And you would be correct:) I have a 24" 44 mag Octagonal barrel in stainless. Not only is she purdy but when I shoot her it's like "Hey Al, how's it going?" little pat on my shoulder.:D
 
I have one 16inch barrel in 44 mag. With the iron sight I can hit a 2litter of milk. Everybody at my range love my puma. I reload my munition with hodgdon hp110 and 240g bullet. LEt me tell you that we see a dragon breath of 2 feet long when I shoot...

I where not afraid to use this gun if my life depend on it...The recoil is comparable to a 308 but the sound is soooooooooooo gooooooood!

I plan to buy another one juste to be sure to have one for my kids in the future.

The only thing that i dislike is the feeding slot on the side. That thing bite my thumb sometime.

Well there's a few things you can do about that.

If you buy steve's video from steve's guns (he's THE rossi puma expert) it'll show you how to smooth that a bit.

But also it's important to use the proper loading 'technique'. Most people slide the shells in with their thumb more or less 'vertical', at almost a 90 degree angle to the magazine tube. Instead, try bending the knuckle of your thumb, so that the knuckle touches the feed gate and holds it open and the tip of your thumb is directly behind the bullet. The feed gate can't close on your thumb anymore and you won't get bit ever.
 
Hearing you guys singing the praises of the Rossi I'm starting to feel like I'm missing out. Always been a fan of the Winnies and I'd dearly love to own an original '92 but most of the ones that aren't shot out and beat to hell are priced way beyond my budget.

I once had a Martini that shot .45 LC with the aid of a bushing inserted in the chamber. Bullet was a bit small so any small critter much past 25 yds had nothing to fear..lol. Still, it sure was a pleasant round to shoot in a long gun.

Yup, I just might have to get me a Rossi....now to decide what calibre.
 
Finally got some Rossi in stock...in .44mag and .45lc. And without the big price increase we were expecting!
