Rossi Gallery vs Lever- Is One Better Than the Other?

I am very tempted to get another .22lr and I am eyeing both of the Rossi Lever and the Gallery gun in .22lr.

Are there advantages of good and bad sides of either that i should know about first?
i have never had either a lever or a pump .22 before.
I like Rossi because they put those fiber sights on the .22s and they make shooting and plinking a lot more easier on the eyes.

I have a little RS22 and like it quite a lot for plinking but boy those mags are pricey.

Used to work @ cabelas gun counter and what turned most people off on the rossi pump was the bolt coming back on your hand if you were holding it slightly higher up.

I recall it not being the smoothest gun out there as well, only has one action bar instead of two...

I'd say go to the store and play with them both, and see which you prefer. But personally I'd spring for the lever.

Can't speak for their lever guns, but had two of their pumps over the years.

They were surprisingly nice. My favorite was a shorter barrel chromed version.

Yes, they slam fire.
I had one not long ago as the picture above.
Buddy begged to have it.

Found another in 62A.
Far far nicer pump.

They are a fun liitle gun.

No, the older model 62's will slamfire but the newer Gallery models don't.

The OP mentioned wanting fiber optic sights so I assume he's looking at this model.

Yeah, I find those fibre sights so easy to get your focus on.

I've replaced plenty of front sight blades with fiber optic replacements.... I prefer a peep at the back and a small as possible fiber optic bead up front. Dot on the spot sight picture works for me.

The multi dot rear sights and different color front sight I find less appealing to my eyes but they still stand out well compared to traditional iron sights.

As to pump or lever, I like them both but I've never handled the newer Rossi models. The model above with the fiber optic sights looks good with the curved pistol grip and is no doubt more cofortable then the traditional straight stock as far as the wrist angle is concerned.

It tend to leave my thumb on the same side as my trigger finger and point it straight ahead instead of putting it across the stock behind the action... faster to operate like that and more comfortable on the wrist.

Rossi rio bravo is probably my most favorite gun to shoot, and i definitely have some "cooler" options.

I enjoy the Rossi Rio Bravo lever (22LR synthetic stock) and it's often the favourite choice of new shooters I take to the range.

No issues unless short stroked. Smooth action, fun to shoulder and shoot fast. I swapped the stock to a custom order from Tommy Enterprises - easy switch between fullstock and mares leg by pulling a couple of QD pins. I did remove the OEM sights because I prefer an optic.

For those who own one, did you discover the screw hole under the backstrap? Try adding a small screw and washer in there ... now you have an adjustable trigger!
