Very nicely done! I just ordered a rossi 92 stock from boyds. I'm assuming it will slip on with very little effort.

If you put a folding stock on a long gun and the over all length is less then 26" what do you get?
If you modify the stock on your Ranchhand (say adding a leather pad on the steel butt plate) and the new length is still under 26" what do you get?

As long as the changes that are made push you over 26" I'd say legally a person would be in the clear. If the modifications allow you to shoot the gun with a shorter then 26" overall length I suppose a good (bad) lawyer could argue that the gun is no longer as it came from the factory and is less then 26"...... stupid I know.
