have you guys heard of this happening with the Rossis 3030? wont cycle some 'cheaper' ammo.??

is this bypass-ed with reloading for them? id likely use Cast 99% of time, Or why would cheaper ammo not cycle like 'premium' stuff?

id be able to talk a chap down on his rossi who says the above regarding cycling, doesnt use the rifle...

let me know what the issue might be here and if the reloading would fix it ,per say

3030 too for specifics

Only thing I can think of is that the angle of the cartridge entering the chamber causes it to bind. It would be a product of bullet shape and cartridge over all length rather than ammunition price point.

If not cycling is referring to not wanting to extract or eject, then a dirty chamber or damaged extractor.

Unless there is a mechanical issue, feeding/cycling is a function of OAL and bullet nose shape. I don't know much about the Rossi, a friend has one and it's OK.

the biggest problem with lever actions is usually from dirty, gummed up chambers. I've fixed most "cycling problems" with a good cleaning.

I had a Rossi ranch hand that would not cycle ammo worth a crap. I sent it in to get fixed under warranty and it was so out to lunch with problems they actually scrapped it and refunded me! I got one literally the next serial number from that one and it was fine...
