Rossi Puma .44 Mag

UPDATE:

Word is a Canadian delivery date is set for the 2nd or 3rd week in February. Process of getting these approved by the CFO is the only question. They are working on this as we speak. Not sure if the Chiappa approval will set precedent but my fingers are crossed.

getting closer!!!!

I don't see how they can allow the chiappa and not the rossi. Even the CFC can't claim we can turn these into full autos :)

An a somewhat related note... does anyone know the overall length of the 16" barrel carbine models? since the anticipation is killing me too i may have to buy one in the mean time...

Thanks for the length guys... now to find a .44Mag carbine

You'll love it. I've got one, great compact little shooter. Feels wonderful to shoot, and is awesome to have beside you on the sofa while you watch old john wayne movies :D

I think the real length we should be concerned with will be 24" Ranch Hand and the minimum 26" allowable by the CFC

I plan on putting a shortened full stock on mine so 26" won't be a problem but there has been non restricted guns shorter then 26" in the past such as that pistol gripped rossi backpacker or what ever it was called....It may be under review however.

Worse case scenario someone brings in a bunch of replacement wood that is a few inches longer..... but like I said I will be running a full stock on mine.

The Chiappa mare's leg is 24" OA, so unless they review that this should be no problem? Fingers crossed though, it would be foolish to count on a reasonable decision...

I'd still take one even as a restricted and just add a full stock or, hell, all 2" of wood to the end and cover it with a slip on recoil pad to hide the different wood.

The law says you cannot alter a gun to below 26," or it will become prohibited.

The law says NOTHING about a gun manufactured to any length. It will be non-restricted as long as it came from the factory at 24".

I'd be more concerned about them ruling that it's a handgun. Then they actually have a (weak) leg to stand on if someone takes them to court over it.

I don't think there will be a problem, as because someone has stated, there is already non-restricted mare's legs in Canada.
