A question for Rossi 92 owners.

Looking for a leather/rubber pad or cover to provide a little more grippy shoulder connection and even one to lengthen the lop would be ok.

The slip on pads all seem too large, even the smallest offerings from pachmyer and limbsaver.

Has anyone found one that actually fits well, not interested in permanently altering the rifle.

Your help appreciated..thanks

liberty: Check out: leatherworkscanada.com. Or: wayne's leatherworks, on facebook. Both sites are for the same leatherworker: Wayne Schmidt.
Wayne makes excellent quality leather rifle butt covers, among other items. Tell him what you want and he can likely make it for you.
Wayne's shop is located just outside Qualicum Beach, BC. He does outstanding work. Very well priced, too. Ships across Canada. Usually via Canada Post. Can highly recommend his work.
Be prepared to have all the dimensions readily available of your rifle's butt. Wayne does meticulous custom work, so may ask for them.

Excellent,,just what I'm looking for..thanks Alex

liberty: I was hesitant to offer this source at first, as these butt covers are getting pretty pricey, now. Good quality, though. I have these on a couple of my 1873 rifles. . But, may be worth a look: Kirkpatrick Leather.
Still, Wayne is right here in Canada. Good guy to talk to, too.

I went the other way with my Triple Black. I found the LOP to be too long and the soft OEM pad to be too grippy to bring the rifle out to the shoulder quickly. I am 6'2". The OP must be a giant to be looking for increased LOP.

liberty: You may already be aware of this, but bears repeating, anyway: Easiest way to get LOP is to measure from the center of the front face of the trigger bow, straight back to the center outside edge of the butt plate. That should provide you with a good idea of approximate length.
On my own Rossi 92 Short Rifle for example, stock length of pull using this method is about 13 1/2-inches. This is the wooden stocked version. If yours is also wood, it should be about the same.
Rossi states that the standard stock measurement is 12 3/4-inch. Though I have seen at least one reference that calls it 13-inches. The Triple Black version has about an 14" LOP. That includes the recoil pad.
Only way to know for sure is to measure yours. It should fall somewhere in that ballpark.
