Rossi Ranch Hand, few questions/rant

I have a soft spot for Lever action rifles, well.. More like an addiction, love the sound the action makes, the amount of control.. Oh yea.. Just love it.

So, when looking across the Henry website, I noticed they make a mare's leg rifle, in .22 and .45LC, I like Henry, they seem to be a good company, but after the purchase of my .22 Octagon rifle, there's a few things about the Henry that I don't like, the tube feed magazine, that feeds from the end, I find it extremely slow to load, compared to my Marlin Guide gun with the hinged door on the reciever (Some heavy lead 45-70 rounds go in with ease).

So, I did some research, and found Rossi makes a mean lookin' mare's leg in 357 Magnum, it's half the price of the .45 LC Henry, has a sweet loading gate on the side, and is actually pretty sharp looking..

Now the question..
Is it Restricted?
What's the quality like on one of these guns?

I'm not very picky when it comes to finish quality, my 1895 is a 1998 model, it looks pretty damn perfect to me, same for the Henry, except for that one spot where my safe door caught it, and scraped some black paint...

the ranch hand is nonrestricted .

rossi rifles are very good quality . they are also the ONLY 1992 action rifles that are chambered for the 454 casull round . being able to handle a 65,000 psi round should tell you something about the quality of the rossi rifles .........

i am also very biased as i own a rossi in 454 casull , and love it to pieces .

The search function refuses to work for me for some reason, I'll click it, and it just gives me the "You must wait 20 seconds until you can search again"

It looks like a nice rifle, it's just odd it's half the price of the Henry.

Who sells the ranch hand? Any of the sponsors?
 
Wanstalls should have some this week, but they are sold out so you'd have to get on the wait list for the next shipment expected in the fall.
 
I was going to get a rossi ranch hand as I have a 92 clone and love it - thought the 44 mag ranch hand would be a killer to feed so I opted for the henry 22 mare's leg - love it slick as you know what through a goose. I asked myself if I wanted to pound of 50 44 mags with the boys or 500 22's with the boys. The tube feed is a bit of a PITA but lets the barrel cool down so you can rachet another 10 through it from the hip into a stump - sorta what the mare's leg is ment for
 
My Rossi hand rifle 44 mag is such a sweet rifle easy to feed action silky smooth accurate to 50 metres shooting it like a handgun, the fun factor is beyond belief... It is a must for lever lover... JP.
 
If you break it down and polish the action they are amazingly smooth. I had a few issues with feeding in mine(454 casull, not a mares leg) but it was easily solved with a little patience and a steady hand with a dremel.

But really a few hours with a polishing wheel makes a world of difference.
 
Great riflle this Rossi hand rifle as soon it's available in 357mag and 45 LC i will get a piece of each great value for the money spent and very accurate in 44 mag i can vouch for that.... the model 92 is the best ever built so this rifle is strong beyond belief and would not recommend that to nobody but incredible fun factor shooting it while rolling and cocking it in my right hand it really work like in the movies... JP.
