What do you want it for? fun Plinking?,Hunting?,Predator Defense? Or some sort of combination?
What your intended use will be is important information and will help to pick the best caliber.
ANY 92 and "purchase for defense" should never be used in the same sentence.
Mine has been away on warranty for about 6 months after I got a faulty gun. Ejection problem, bolt face with mechanical damage and a pitted barrel right out of the box!
Not impressed.

Unfortunately the warranty support is slow in Canada and varies in quality.
The best bet with a Rossi is to inspect it if possible ormake sure that the seller is ok with an inspection period?

That's a handy rig for sure.
Unless your built like a giraffe, you could shorten the stock an inch or two and still have it comfortable to shoot. It might improve the Ballance and would look more "balanced" with the 12.5" barrel.
I've grown used to the big one but if I could reshape it I'd go with Henry's take on a mid size lever.
I like to let my hand ride on the outside of the lever for a more relaxed wrist angle and psudeo "pistol grip"
