Rotten Mallards How can i get rid of em??

All winter (if ya wana call it winter here in B.C) These Rotten mallards have been hanging around eating my Muscoveys duck food. :mad:
The F#%Kers fly into the dykes neibours yard where theres a big pond then fly over as soon as i put out food for my ducks my ducks are free range ducks & gesse & chickens.
I cant Shoot the Mallards (Tho i would like to ;) ) and just wondered if theres anything or any ideas how to keep them away?

Keep in mind i have a Neibour on each side of me.
I try feeding my ducks just a bit at a time but its a pain and there so F#@King Stupid they just watch the Mallards like 20 of them eat all there food.
Maby i should let mine starve a bit that might put some lead in there pencils :D

Ya well unless i set them in the neibours yard idd only catch mine + i kinda wanted to stay outa the news eh ;)

So far i like the owl idea as its compleatly legal but these ducks are pretty smart, But worth a try,
 
I'd use an air rifle... Seeing some of their buddies getting taken out will get rid of them in a hurry...

Great...........only three of the responses are completely illegal.

Dingus I suspect the only way you can cure this, if the fox or other predator decoys don't work, is to build a pen that your ducks retreat to to get fed.

It is a pain, but just think of all the farmers and ranchers out there that have to build 8 foot high game fences to keep the deer and elk out of their winter hay. Your duck pen would only cost a couple of hundred bucks, not thousands.
 
The idea of a feeding pen sounds good cause Mallards dont like going into a confined area that they cant get outa fast.
If the decoys dont work the pen sounds like a good idea.
I got a roll of chicken wire a 10 x 10 area with a small entrance sould work, But i will have to net the top in as them Mallards can take off strait up like a chopper.
 
You can apply through the BC Government to get a permit to destroy the ducks. Friends of our have a permit to destroy geese that are eating their alfalpha seeds as fast as they can plant them.

Check with the CO he can point you in the right direction or contact.

Then all the other advice becomes useful.;)

We used to need a special license for Canada geese out of season Sept to Feb as the damage caused is beyond insurance. Now they are on the general license and can be shot year round, but not with lead for some reason!
 
you coyuld get a recording a of a predetor bird and play over loud speaker when the ducks around or pick up an airsoft or paintball gun

Had the same problems 7-8yrs ago and they can be a pest, let me tell ya. Had to build a pen, covered with a small entrance. My ducks knew where to go for food and it solved the problems with these wild ones.

They didn't like the idea of going "inside" at all. Another problem was with my geeses, altough they are supposed not to fly (if you cut the tips of the wings), I still lost a couple that went away with some wild ones... :mad:, that ... I didn't like :mad: .

With the Muscoveys, no problems, they were so big and fat, that they couldn't fly, even with private flying lessons I don't think they could of made it.:D They are good meat ducks for sure. :D

if most of your muscovies are female try throwing a few males in they are more territorial i had one and it would attack my lab if she went within 100 yards of the barn or try frozen paintballs with the power turned way up :D
