Round count on your pistols and revolvers

I don’t bother, sounds like too much work for no gain. I’m more concerned with keeping it lubed than how many rounds I’ve shot out of it, my pistols don’t get shot a ton at the moment so it’s not a big deal to me. I could make a rough guess if I had to but I don’t see the need.

I only have one pistol per caliber and I reload so it’s pretty easy. I just go back and look what I bought. The number of projectiles will give me a pretty accurate idea of how much shooting I’ve done with a particular caliber/gun.

I have three systems:

1- Competition pistols. I keep a shot log with each gun which includes scores, sight settings, ammo mfg, type, lot #, or components & data if handloaded. I don’t really care what the round count is, just how they perform in my guns.

2- High end toys. I don’t collect, but these would be considered collectors guns by some. I keep a small book with each gun and shoot in easy to track numbers; 25, 50, or 100rds. These I only track in case I decide to sell.

3- Plinkers & Service pistols. Don’t care. Clean them & replace parts when they start failing. If I sell a Glock the practical difference between 5000rds and 7000rds is nothing.

Ever since I've started shooting in January I've kept a log book in an Excel sheet. Visits to the club, # of rounds fired, when I clean the guns.... I even track my expenses... God this is an Awesome but Expensive hobby!!! Haha

I thought I was the only one tracking such things... Nice to see I'm not the only one that's analytical about it... What do you want, I like stats! :)
