Round nose in SVT

I have a box of 174gr round nose soft point which I'd like to use in the SVT, but I can't see how the ramps would feed both the round nose and the spitzer.

Is there anyone out there shooting round nose out of their SVT?

The weight is right, and I've already got them, but I just see how I can get them to feed reliably.

I've noticed with S&B soft point that the lead nose of the bullet deforms as it hits the feed ramp as it chambers after firing the previous round. It shears off a chunk off the nose of the bullet, I noticed as I manually ejected a chambered round.

I've experienced chambering issues in all my Russians when using sp rounds. Maybe I'm just having bad luck though

It seems to vary rifle to rifle and magazine to magazine and how the chamber/ramp/feed lips are lined up.

I was at the range with a friend and mine would feed soft point no problem, his would fetch the soft led on the edge of the chamber as it was pushing forward. We tried switching mags and both would feed it reliably. If you have another svt or know someone who does try swapping mags and see if it works.

Mine feed those 203gr soft points no problem. But looking at the mag it may have been gouging the lead tip a bit. Doesn't bother me any. If yours doesn't feed first place I would look is the mag
