In the week between Christmas and New Years I went down to the Police Station with all my paperwork filled out and handed the papers to the guy at the counter there. He took them, mailed them off at some point and today I called the CFP/RCMP at the 1-800 number to check on the status of my application since it hasn't shown up online yet.
The girl on the phone looked at my file, said that everything looked OK and that they were waiting to scan the photo into the system. Then she transferred me to another agent to do my interview. That agent figured out that I'm from Quebec and transferred me to the CFO / Surete du Quebec office in Montreal. The guy over there said that they weren't ready to interview me yet and that they would call me back for my interview in "45 business days". "Business Days?" I asked, confirming. Yes, he said business days. He said it might be "as little as 60 regular days, but there are no guarantees".
Has anyone else encountered this? I asked him if I could call back sooner for the interview and he said that no, I have to wait for them to call me and my references in two months' time.
Now, I'm not exactly in a hurry for my RPAL, I haven't even joined a club yet, but I am wondering if this is the norm or what? I haven't seen many people from Quebec comment, though I didn't go through all 400+ pages of the RPAL thread.
Is this normal? Will it only show up on the RCMP site once the CFO has handed it back to the place in Mirimichi?
