waiting for my Rpal gave me time to look into what I wanted in a handgun, and to say the world of handguns is overwhelming to a new guy would be an understatement. Hammer fired, striker fired, single action, double action, steel, polymer, de cocker, no de cocker, manual safety,no safety, and of course, caliber.
What am I going to use this handgun for?
I wanted something I could take to the range just punching paper to begin with, but could possibly use as a competition gun for a few local events down the road if I decide to take my black badge course.
I also didn't want to overspend on a first pistol, no point in dropping over a grand on my first, after all, there will probably be more down the road, lol.
After considering all of the above, and many hours of YouTube videos, my decision is made, and the winner is,,,, FN FNS9L.
Great price, 3mags, fully ambidextrous as I'm a lefty, good reviews, and not everybody has one :)
I went with the two tone, not really something I like on most guns, but it seems to work well on the FN.
Now the wait for delivery begins, and I'm already looking at 1911 style handguns for my next purchase :)

Congrats!!! I've heard good things about those.

I decided on Glock 17 for my first pistol, mainly for high resale value, relatively cheap 9mm, and super reliable and easy to clean. Been to the range 3 times with it so far and really enjoying the sport!
