My application status shows as "issued" as of today (I have a lic # and everything!;) )

Now the question of which 9mm and which .22 semi to buy becomes a little more pressing..............

I have been looking at getting my RPAL there are a few Rugers two Sigs and on Glock I have been looking at... The Glock fits my hands well and shoots ok... A 1911 would be on my list as well.

CZ Shadow SP-01 (9MM) Have never heard anyone say the hand fit was not excellent.. and it's very easy to shoot well.. Browning Buckmark URX (22) with fiber sights very hard to beat for quality ergo and accuracy.

Seriously thinking about some variation of a CZ (I see 75b Omega's on for 599 right now) or maybe a Jericho 941 (also under 600) for the 9...Girsan is also an outside contender...as is a Beretta PX4 Storm (although, in the $750+ range the Beretta seens a little pricey).

As for the .22 it's a little more wide open....one of the Browning Buckmarks or Browning 1911-22, Some variation of a Rugar....maybe a S&W 22A...maybe even a revolver?

You're making this more complicated than it needs to be.

Quick 'n easy answer: All of 'em.

You won't go wrong looking at the GSG 1911 (cheap .22 which will help you learn a lot about fundamentals), and any of the CZ 75 family. I ended up buying a CZ 75 SP-01 (not a Shadow) due to lack of availability of the Shadow's in my area at the time. Do I regret it at all? Not in the slightest!

In any case, welcome to the club! Whatever you do buy, shoot the hell out of it. :D

Bought a year old used Buck Mark with a 5.5 bull barrel in SS today with 2 mags and a synthetic stock Rugar 10-22 Laser. Still thinking about the 9mm but leaning towards the CZ Sp-01 Shadow.

Handled the Girsan's but the grip seemed wrong (a little short). Browning 1911-22 is TINY!...... just disappeared in my hand. They had a GSG target and it was nice but decided to go with the Browning.

My All time Favorite, and never sell 9mm is my Browning Hi Power .... And I have shot and owned a lot of 9mm's....
But you could buy 2 SR9's for the price I pay'd.
