Has anyone else got the RPAL with out any interviews of the applicant or references?

I send away the RPAL application 7 days after I applied for my PAL.

My PAL application was approved and issued on August 12th. The 28th day of my waiting period. I was billed the $60 on August 7th and I had no interviews what so ever.

My RPAL application was approved ( August 16th ) and again no interviews at all and I was not charged any fee as upgrading your PAL is free. So by sending my RPAL application 7 days later worked in my favor as it saved me $20

I got my PAL/RPAL without even sending in proof I passed the exam. I just checked the box saying I passed. And no interviews for either.

i had to do an interview on the phone when i called asking them where the hell my licence is after she was done with me i had to go get my reference my brother and put him on. couldnt she had made an attempt to call me or my brother FFS!

Mine came back with no interviews either, but they got my birth year wrong by 50 years.

My brother sent his out a month before me, and he had both references called, and he got a call himself.

Perhaps the RCMP are just ageist. ;)

Maybe its random?

Yeah, I wasnt serious.

But in my case, it's pretty bad letting a 20~ pass for a 70~, considering the facets the application goes through being a Gov't ID, I must say. Considering it is a picture ID. Of course it could have been fluke.

There's nothing to prevent the RCMP from conducting those interviews after the fact and revoking RPALs accordingly. They might be motivated, or even pressured, to do this as a reaction to publicity about sloppiness in the process.

What he said.

There should be no interviews or references required anyway. Did the applicant pass the tests, a yes answer should be good enough, no proof required. If you are a Canadian Citizen with no real criminal record that should be all that is required to any and all firearms.
