I'm just filling out my application form for both my RPAL and PAL license (after passing both courses), and i'm kind of stumped on one question:
During the past five (5) years, have you or any member of your household been prohibited from possessing any firearm?
I am aware that my brother was on house arrest two years ago for nothing gun-related. Do I still check off yes? How do i proceed?

P.S.: I do not really speak to him, so i'm unaware of his current situation in terms of criminal record. I know that he has not been arrested since.

Does your Brother live with you? even if he was under house arreest he could still have condictions such as prohib from owning or posession of Firearms.
If your brother does not live with you then the answer is No.

He does currently live with me. Until august. I'm a student so currently at home in between academic years. Should I be checking if he is prohibited from possessing firearms?

Yes, ask him if his issues included a firearms prohabition. If it didnt your answer is no.

Shawn

Is there another way I can source this information? I'd rather not have to deal with him on this matter. Also if it happens to be yes (generally does criminal record = prohibited?) could this mean a denial of my application?

Uh you want to bring a firearm into your household but you are iffy about your brother being asked about something like this? I would rethink your living situation then or just wait until after he is gone. It's less than a few weeks to wait.

You're jumping to conclusions here, and I don't appreciate that. I just don't enjoy spending time around him as we do not get along. I asked him yesterday and he is not prohibited from carrying fire arms as it was a non-violent crime.

Mods can close if they want, thanks for the help.
