I listed my parents as references for the RPAL application, and when they were interviewed by the RCMP, they were given a "special" phone number to call if "something" happens. Does anyone know what sort of number it is?

Mine were asked if i was a violent person, had anger management issues and that they were in no way coerced into making these statements. They were asked if they had any concerns about me owning a firearm and told that the RCMP should be contacted immediately should that change. While they didn't mention it to me i assume that that is the point at which they would be provided a contact number.

Do you know if it is a designated panic number? or just the normal cfc number and then a concerns extension.

Probably this:

Reporting Public Safety Concerns
Canadian Firearms Program

If your concern is urgent or life threatening, call 911 or your local Police emergency number.

If you have a public safety concern related to firearms that is not urgent or immediately life threatening, call our toll-free number: 1 800 731-4000.

Please note: This is not an emergency line, calls received on this line are only answered during Chief Firearm Officer’s regular business hours, and calling this number will not dispatch police assistance.
Public safety calls are routed to provincial Chief Firearms Officers, who will take appropriate action. For example, you can call this number if you believe a person who owns firearms could be dangerous to himself or herself or to others. You can also call this number if you know of an individual who has a firearms licence or who has applied for a firearms licence and have a valid reason why this person should not have such a licence.

I was a refrence for my buddy when he sent his application and they told me the same thing

Telling me that if i ever feel he would be a threat with his firearms to his family and such to call them

Thanks for the quick replies, guys. :)

That website was what I was looking for...my parents were telling me that they were given a "special" number, so I was curious. It looks like a panic/information number to me.

What was the special number???

If it's the std CFO # then yup, that's the std interview procedure.
