RPAL this sunday

Hey guys. Doing my RPAL course this sunday and will be buying an M&P 9mm with range kit from a good friend. Excited to get in to pistols!! I've fired a few over the last year, from a 1911 colt .45ACP, baretta 9mm and even a .44mag ( what a beast). I see a very expensive future adding this to my already expensive rifle hobby.

Have fun in the course, and even more fun waiting for the RPAL to arrive in the mail. I'd suggest express post for your application when mailing it in. It'll save you about a week over snail mail, but still about 25-29 days before your mail gets opened after it is received.

Mine was almost 3 months to the day before it got here, My wife applied at the same time as me and hers was here a full week before mine.

Did the course on February 17th and got my card on July 20th, so 5 months of waiting. On the web site they say the cycle time is 45 business days but when I called them at the 46th day I was told that it's more like 90 business days which was exactly that in my case.

I waited something like three months for mine, and I chose not to ask questions and be patient. It worked out. I didn't end up even buying a firearm until months later so it didn't matter.
