RPAL to buy primers?

When did this start? I bought 5000 small pistol primers 2 months ago and never pulled anything but money out of my wallet.
CFO keeps getting better.

Im glad I dont live there. I ordered 5000 Largerifle primers from cabela's Canada over the phone and they had no problem sending them to me, never asked for my PAL. The west is best they say

Just bought 1000 primers, 500 smk's and 2 lbs of powder last week from p+d. Asked about showing id and was told that it wasnt required.

I call BS....I've bought numerous components from varying dealers, never required to show an RPAL.

I've purchased powder in both Ont. and Que within the last 3 months and never had to show anything but money.

It's stupid enough that you would need to show a firearms licence for primers but why RPAL? Would a PAL not be enough? Is the restricted primer shorter than the non-restricted primer and therefore an RPAL is needed?

BTW never needed to show anything in Alberta.

I was asked to sign a book for the last powder purchase, even the clerk didn't care if it was really my name and no ID was required. Never for primers.

Ya, if you are only a PAL holder you are not qualified to reload ammo! Perhaps an excuse for the wife as to why you need to get your restricted PAL and a handgun!
