maybe that thread will reach the 100 page and then obtain the epic title like the dishwasher guys before the rpd get approve by your national anti gun agency ...

I recently found a semi auto m1919 to tide me over until my RPD arrives :bangHead: It even has a FRT# but I was told it cannot be exported from US or imported in to CA because it doesn't have a receiver made from five new sides WTF. There is no such thing, I wonder if this will eventually be there excuse why we can't have our RPD's.

If you understood how a 1919 is built, vs how a RPD is built, you'd understand why the RPD would never have the 1919 "problem" of 5 sides.

The receiver of the 1919 is made up of 5 parts riveted together... In the USA, the receiver in a 1919 is considered to be the right side plate... The other plate, the bottom as well as the front and rear are not considered part of the receiver and when you make a semi-auto 1919, you can use these parts but need a newly made semi-auto only right side plate in order for the gun to be nice and legal... But for export and import purposes, the fact that the guns are made from formerly full-auto parts seem to be alarming to some paper pushers... I would guess, not being familiar with the RPD receivers, that they are probably not riveted and that the semi-auto receivers are all new and do not use any parts from a formerly full-auto receiver...

The RCMP are just running the clock on this one re. the RPD. I predict they will either say here is the FRT and you can bring them in in the last weeks of the run up to election day to throw a hot potato into the CPC lap and give ammo to the dippers/liberals, general anti gun nutjobs and media. OR they are awaiting a new and far more compliant government (again dipper/liberal or bastard coalition) installed to do the RCMPs bidding.

Ok enlighten me.

1919 receiver has 5 pieces of steel mated together. 4 walls and a bottom. Rpd is one piece of milled metal. Not 5. As mentioned before the US definition of a receiver is different than the Canadian definition. If one of the 5 walls of a 1919 comes from a full auto parts kit, it will be deemed converted. The rpd receivers are newly made semi auto only and won't accept full auto parts.

Apples to oranges.

That is all well and good I just hope that the person making the decision is as well informed.

The RCMP have gamed the system to the max. I would be surprised beyond words if they produce a FRT now with a Liberal Regime about to be installed.
