I thought that there were a finite amount of polish ones and the other ones on the wait list were non polish.

People were offered a polish upgrade package. The rest were going to get the original DSA rpd offer. DSA backed out on arms east, and now only those that upgraded to the Polish kit are waiting.

Each new receiver brand will need a new frt. likely won't need a full lab inspection, just photos and build sheets, but still a new frt.
These kits will have the first frt, so the wait continues.
Chinese parts kits would be interesting, if a Canadian company milled or forged new receivers. Likely the Chinese kits would be one of the three barrel types as well. Given their manufacturing history, probably pinned or threaded.

It's still at the lab. We are waiting for an update from them, not Arms East. AE is in the same position we are.

The last update was that the lab wanted more info, and that AE sent it. Regardless, the only possible updates are...
- the lab wants more info...
- the lab isn't done the exam yet
- the lab is done and it is prohib as easily converted to full auto
- the lab us done and the gun is non restricted.
No other possible update could be given other than those 4 options.

Well I guess that cat is out of the bag. Yes, PG and AE USA have purchased more RPD kits. Our original hammer forged chrome lined polish barrel rifles remain crated up, safe and snug in FL. No change.
We will be offering new US made chrome lined barrelled rifles going forward, Stateside anyway. All other manufacturers offer non-chrome lined barrels.

Regarding updates...
I have asked repeatedly with the Senior Firearm Technician (this is one person) for an update and have received no reply since March, which was then a boilerplate 'you are in the queue', which I replied to seeking actual information, not repeated verbatim non-information, no response.
For best results for updates, I suggest those waiting contact their MP and ask for an update. That's no joke. Beyond active customers, ask your MP as well. Keep us in the loop.
These forced examinations (to ensure it isn't a machine gun, as if we would import machine guns and just sell them and hope for the best) should involve our manufacturers information (submitted), a cleaning rod and a measuring tape and should take all of a few hours, tops, including taking the photos. This is not an open ended, multi-year project.
Something is seriously wrong with this relatively new forced inspections for classification regime. As the Minister of Public Safety said in front of cameras, the Criminal Code of Canada classifies firearms in Canada. When we get news we will act. In the meantime, this sits with a Govt organization, the SFSS Section, RCMP, Ottawa. Actual updates. Ask your MP.
My update is no update then too. There is no issue with the rifle, it just must be examined for classification to make sure it is not a machine gun. We are in the queue for examination, but have not yet been examined yet, to the best of my knowledge.

I will call my MP tomorrow. He is a friend from my hometown and last time I had an issue with the CFO, I got him involved and lo and behold, it was fixed to my satisfaction within hours.
