Hello,
I have an update for all those who put their name down for a DSA RPD.

Received yesterday morning...

At this time we regret to inform you that due to current domestic demand and our inventory of parts kits we are unable to provide any RPD rifles for export orders including to Canada.

Knowing how many kits DS Arms has before they are out of the RPD business all together (because we were trying to buy them too) I began to expect something like this as time went on. There is no need for DSA to sell to dealers at a discount when they can sell the last of their RPDs easily, directly, and domestically. They already have 12-16 week backorder waits on individual orders. I can't hold the decision against them.

This does not affect the RPDs already in our possession in the USA. We will send out an offer in sequential order to those who placed a no-money down pre-order for the DSA as soon as the rifles are in Canada and ready to sell. Ie, the FRT is issued. Final price will be set at that time.

Not my doing on the DSA, we worked VERY hard to try get these for Canadians, but I offer our apologies regardless to any disappointments.

Best regards,
Walt

Thank you for the update.

For those of us that passed on the chrome offer and are in on the initial DSA pre buy. Can we email you to see if we make the cut off for your DSA's your expecting? Have no problem waiting but if I can buy another gun in the mean time then that's a good thing!

If anyone on the pre-sale cancels their order, we will offer the gun to the next person in line. You will not have lost your priority in sequence. That I can promise.

Also, when our guns arrive and the FRT is issued, we will use the pre-order list to contact everyone until the guns are gone.

I am closing the $0.00 pre-order now.

Read your edit and question answered! thanks!

edited.

I'll be patiently (and hopefully) be hoping for an email when they come in.

Thanks for your hard work trying to get these in our hands.

Thanks for the update - will the contact for pre-ordered RPD's use the info@armseast.com email? I'm asking because I removed that one from my junk email filter but a different one might go back in and not be noticed.

Sure thing. I'll PM you with one more email.

^^^^^^^^That is not what the first post says. I will contact Arms East directly. Try to minimize Walter getting bombarded on CGN

Unless we have cancellations we don't have enough RPDs to cover the entire first DSA offer (meaning the ones that had a price tag that wasn't $0.)

Anything else, let me know please.

I appreciate your intentions though! :)

ok so this means no dsa MADE rpd's.. specifically their receivers...

Now arms east, what is the parts situation like? could we import parts guns? minus the receiver, manufacture our own rpd semi receiver and continue to glorious belt fed goodness?

Haha ok CGN it is then.

We are on the same page I was in quite early on the first offer (with a value on my invoice) and passed on the Chrome Polish RPD VERY reluctantly. I was trying to figure out if that is all there is for your RPDs, chrome barrelled. So if my pass turned into a complete pass on an RPD instead of just on a chrome polish RPD. That is my deduction. Just hoping I am possibly wrong.

That's all.

Either way thank you for all the time and headache I can imagine this has been for you ! Even if its not in my hands I consider it a huge win for Canadian Firearms owners that they will be here at all one day!

Im pretty sure that the parts situation in north america is critical as in less than 24hours to live.

Parts kits are becoming scarcer than unicorns. Any kiys available will likey go to building whatever guns are left to be built.

so a brand new rpd would probably range in the 5k mark with low demand at that price... :/ hmm how much could it really cost to make one?

Im pretty sure that north korea is still producing them, they love building vintage military hardware because well... thats mostly what they have access to tooling and blueprint wise.

So that brings it to (tooling).... thats where the problems arise cost wise in new production.
