rpd

" ah the they should be" But the document is suggesting that RPD's are easily converted back to F/A this is why the seizure in the first place.. regardless if they were converted autos or not, once they are reviewed by the courts they will be black listed by customs. So.. although I could be dead wrong? just my few $0.10 worth.

yet I see under the list of prohibited firearms it doesen't appear.

closed bolt

I think that these are done building them into a closed bolt, as that is how they are remanufacturing the mg 42 into a semi only and I think that is how they do it with the bren as well. They usually use a trigger out of a rifle.
How come they have all the inovations and we get nothing... I guess that is the difference between, having the potential market they have and the little market that we have.

ah, as I can see under the list of prohibs the RPDs do not show up, but they are from what I am seeing in the court docs prohibited under the customs act and declared an "offensive weapon".
Interesting stuff. But ya if they make a semi receiver only for them then it's a whole new ball game. Agreed Deckard

I think these are prohib.. let me go check..
yup they are..
here is a summary http://www.citt-tcce.gc.ca/appeals/decision/ap89284_e.asp

That relates to converted autos though, which have been classed as MGs in the US for ages. The ones sold in the US as semi-auto would have to have a bespoke receiver and some other parts, so I don't think that ruling is particularly relevant.
