RPG-7 Project

there are people with in Canada with live original RPG's using the Czech sub-cal unit (including myself). Why go through all of the effort to re-barrel it to detonate binary targets when you can set off rimfire targets like the ones from Gryphon energetics with the original barrel in the sub cal unit?

It was fun for a few shots but after a while you just get tired of lifting 16 pounds over your shoulder for one shot. I'm sure it would be more fun with tracers, which was something that I never got a hold of while I had it.

seeing as torched rpg-7 are going for 4 grand, I don't see a kit like this being cheaper than 8 to 10.

What's the right price for this bad boy (I'm not kidding, emt on stand by depending)

Depending on what you want for a package, it would roughly be anywhere from $7500-$10,000

The manufacturers of rimfire binary targets state that a minimum of 1000fps is needed to detonate them. When I tested the Czech PUS-7 sub-cal it had a muzzle velocity of around 900fps, and would only further drop velocity at 100m, so it wouldn't meet manufacturers recommendations. Granted I never tested shooting a rimfire binary target with the standard PUS-7, so it may work. Additionally, rimfire binary targets are sold by the 1/2 pound, which is extremely difficult to hit at the minimum distance of 100m away.

Also, with it rebarrelled, it is possible to hunt with it.

You know your market prices well.

Are you drilling a hole through the launchers? Or are they original?

Original, deactivated, but with functional fire control group.

Wait, the launcher can stll fire live rocket ?

No, this cannot fire a live rocket. Having a live/functional RPG-7 would require the individual to register with the Controlled Goods Program, although many owners are not compliant, the RCMP are well aware of this and will charge anyone who is not compliant.

So you take the back end off of the subcal kit?

So hypothetically you are registered....

;)

His I assume either has the 40mm hole drilled in the side under the handguard or that and the pin installed. If it is missing the pin down the centre of the barrel then a full length subcal unit will fit and so will the original round. Pulling the trigger on an original round (if you could find one) will more than likely kill the guy firing it though.
