Not even worth the risk buying one to me. Youve got to sneak around to shoot it and you cant pass it down to your children either because you wouldnt want them to end up on the hook.
I've been offered them in a gun store (to clarify, the owner had no knowledge that the other customer in the store was offering unregistered prohibs to me - and I advised the individual to leave) - are you in BC?, they are ridiculously common here because the main importer was based here. I bet you've never seen a Norc M14 that should be a 12.3 either - not uncommon here. How about the parts to assemble an M2 carbine in a neat little baggy? I've seen all of those in the last 2 years. All of the above are clearly illegal, and I will have nothing to do with them, if someone else does, that's their problem. So yes, that stuff is indeed "out there".
RPK illegal, check. Sorry for finding a bunch of cool rifles at a little gun show. Next time I see something cool or a good deal on something I won't be posting it here. Some of you are such big fat experts on everything, sorry to be such a rookie on rifles I have never seen before in person. Just thought it was a cool rifle for a cheap price. Didn't know someone was going to take a dump on me for this topic. Rules and regulations seem to change or bend in this country. Some are jamming 10 round mags in SKS's, why not see what people thing of this rifle. I guess I stepped out of the repetitive talk of the SKS.
"RPK illegal, check." - Something you could have found out with a Google search or by looking at the FAQ's on this very website. Also, they're not illegal. They're illegal to possess without the proper licensing, there is a difference, but I understood what you were getting at.
"Sorry for finding a bunch of cool rifles at a little gun show." - I don't recall anyone here giving you problems for finding cool rifles at a gun show. Had you have posted pictures of the RPK that don't look like they were taken on a potato and said "Hey, look what I found at the gun show!" no one would have a problem with that. Don't attempt to pretend anyone here has an issue with you finding a cool gun for sale.
"Next time I see something cool or a good deal on something I won't be posting it here." - Once again, you posting "cool deals" is not something anyone here has a problem with. However, knowing you, you'll make a post about how SKS's are a great deal, something that is incredibly obvious, and, considering this subsection of the forum, contributes absolutely nothing to the discussion we aren't all already aware of. Oh wait, you did do that... (http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?919836-SKS-has-to-be-the-best-deal-going)
"Some of you are such big fat experts on everything, sorry to be such a rookie on rifles I have never seen before in person." - I'd say that not knowing basic laws about what you may and may not possess despite having 400+ posts on a the biggest gun-based forum in the country goes beyond "rookie" mistakes. Also, how do you need to see a firearm in person to know it's prohibited? I've never seen an Uzi in person but I know that they're prohibited because I've read the laws.
"Rules and regulations seem to change or bend in this country." Riiiiiiight. RPK's were taken off the list of prohibited firearms overnight and you heard nary a peep of it on a forum focused on rifles like the RPK, as well as not even a whisper of it from the anti-gun media establishments that nearly crapped themselves and went into 24 hour coverage mode when the government said we no longer have to register our non-restricted's. Because that could totally happen. Once again: critical thinking, please do try it.
"Some are jamming 10 round mags in SKS's, why not see what people thing of this rifle." - This is your only half decent point. But, still, you could have GOOGLED THE LEGALITY OF THE RPK IN CANADA before gracing us with yet another genius thread, chock-full of your wisdom.
"I guess I stepped out of the repetitive talk of the SKS." - I fail to see how you can realistically use this as an argument considering you made a thread regurgitating extremely common knowledge about the SKS. Your thread about how "SKS's are a good deal" that I mentioned above focuses on one of the most repetitive aspects of what you apparently view to be a repetitive topic, so please spare us the "oh poor me I rocked the boat" rhetoric.
Thanks, but no thanks. You're either trolling or really need to read more and post less.
I realize that having a functional brain capable of retaining information it takes in is a foreign concept to you, but do attempt to recognize that I read things posted on this forum, and certain things stick out. Things such as interesting information, stupid and repetitive posts, and things that are relevant to my interests, are all retained in my memory. If it's not too hard, try to guess which one of those three things applies to the content you 'add' to the discussion. Feel free to re-read the post if required.
Also, the word you are looking for is 'Woman.' One cannot "need a women" because one cannot have a singular of a plural.
This will be my last reply to you in this thread. If you wish to continue to suggest I need female companionship (I have enough of that, but thanks for your concern for my ### life) you can do it via private message.
