RSAUM Rifles

Hi guys

Looking for a NOS RSAUM Rem 700 that has been wasting away on a lgs shelf somewhere, or lingering on a used rack passed over constantly.

I know E&L in PG had a few savages in these chamberings on the shelves years ago for a serious discount, but I think he has closed his doors.

Why not just buy a donor and have a Smith spin on a Bartlein, Brux or Kreiger barrel?

Look for the model 700 xcr2 in 300wsm. I used one to build my 6.5 Rem Mag

Oh no sorry, I just decided to use a superior ruger action

I was going to build a 458x2 but now I'm just building a 458 win mag. You can always load down but at some point the gun blows up if you go the other direction.

Not sure if a Ruger RSM interests You, but You can get one already chambered in 458 Lott. Then You can shoot 458 wm and 458 Lott out of it. I have a Ruger RSM in 375 H&H. I just missed out buying a RSM in 458 Lott. Absolutely amazing rifle. I personally feel there isn’t a factory rifle as nice for the $.

I'd love to get an Ruger safari in a smaller chambering some day though.

If you check Pawn shops etc you can usually come up with a ruger or salvage there Cheap ! LOL RJ

O.K I get it now....your looking for the Jeffries sized bolt face?

Why not just BUY the 700 action from a dealer they sell them with that Bolt face

I have a M700(Brownells) with SAUM bolt face.

The SAUMs were more popular in the Model 7 action...???


By the way calling the SAUM obselete and then talking about building a 458 win Mag ?

You are solving a problem that doesn't exist.

I wanted to build a 454x2 american, I decided to build a 458 WM instead. I have a rifle and barrel making this thread kind of moot.

Are many RSAUM rifles being produced these days? Obsolete is not a matter of opinion.
