Need as much info as you experienced pistol owners have. I am thinking of buying this as my first restricted so that i can afford to shoot as much as possible.

Not sure about the 22/45 but I have a MkIII, great little gun. There are several guys here that have the 22/45 and sure they will input their opinions. You cannot go wrong with a .22, cheap, easy to shoot, easy to learn to shoot well.....good tool in the tool box.

Mark III 22/45 is a great gun. I wouldnt hesitate to pick one up again. I would go for the 4.5" blued bull barrel version though. I would consider the standard Mark III autos too. Can't go wrong with a Ruger.

I picked up a Ruger MKIII (P45GCMKIII 4.5" slabside barrel fixed sights) this summer. I freak'n love it and take it to the range everytime I go. Fun lil gun! :D

Thank you for the replies, could some one tell if the 22/45 comes pre drilled for scope base. not that a person would put it on but I Know the MKIII is pre drilled just wondering for future expandability.

Definately some of the best money you can spend if you are in the market for a rimfire pistol, hands down. I wish the 22/45's grips were not as slick but a Hogue Handall (or simple rubber bands) goes a long way in helping with that problem. I also found them to be a bit less picky about ammo relative to other 22lr semi autos which is always nice ;)

gorky have you handled a MKIII? The grip is nicely textured! :D

I thought about picking one up but decided against it just because I wanted to practice more with standard loads (40SW right now). Cost is not as big of an issue because I am not shooting huge volumes but if/when that happens again, I will be turning to the MK III if the Sig Mosquito turns out to be a dud (or I might buy another AA kit for my Glock or maybe one of those sweet Kimber conversions  :D )

One slight problem, it seems like everyone in Canada is out of 22/45's with the short 4.5" barrel so you'd most likely have to order it in from somewhere (wholesale lists it at 309$ which is probably the cheapest out there).

The grip angle on the 22/45 is practically ideal for the average "combat handgun" shooter. The original is just too rakish and aggressive in grip angle for me. The grip is also very slick, but $2 worth of grip tape from your local skate board shop or canadian tire will fix that up in a jiffy. old.....er....new cop trick. The accuracy is phenomenal for the price and will shoot to your standard all day long, reliably. Huge thumbs up for the piece.

Gorky, you have a sig mosquito on order???? That would partner up with my P226/P229 very nicely. tell us about it, price included. Start a thread!

I'm never though about changing mine in about 10 years. 1" iron sight groups at 15' from a sandbag, and the stainless version doesn't need cleaning.

Now I am a Big Mouth, whoo-hooo!
