Ruge no1 thang safety

So if the link works then it will be easy.... I have a Ruger no1 that the thang safety doesn’t sit flat on the thang like on my other no1 and I was wondering how complicated it would be to make it so it does sit flat and what would be the procedure(I heard that using hammer to it is not a good idea because of the nature or the steel)

Take out of the rifle, heat it and bend the ends down a bit... cold bending may break it...

Thank you, is it simple to take out? Remove but stock to expose the mechanism and then.... everything sprung out hahaha
