Ok; I exchanged emails with my rep on Firday. He had no definate dates yet for when we might see the 303 BRIT's but he did say he thought it would be 'soon'. Still really vague for trying to nail down a delivery date but 'soon' is lot better than I was expecting. I was thinking this autumn would be great but there is a good chance we will see them this summer. :)

Also, some of the 'Elephant' #1's in 450 NE 3 1/4" have arrived. Most are very nice for wood. I'll be getting pics of them ASAP.

I already bought a Leupold FX3 6x42 in anticipation of this rifle.

ALL HAIL THE NEW KING OF THE .303's!!
NEW KING????? How's it new?

Maybe Ruger will neck down their somewhat fabulous 375Ruger to 303cal. Then it might be of royalty otherwise stop your trolling. Shouldn't you be manning the phones for the Green Party or something?

It's simple! The Ruger #1 is the NEW KING of rifles chambering the .303 British Cartridge.

And thanks for the update Clay.

I don't own slippers. You are thinking of Super Cub:p
I haven't had these out for a while. I don't like to post this much as it makes TB feel "different".

My thunks & thoughts are that I should put a Leica 1.75-6x 32mm I presently have on my .375 H&H on one of these rifles I ordered. Looks like we'll have a Moose tag this year, so it only goes that this one should be in the bush with me this fall if they arrive in time. I was going to take my favorite hunting rifle out this fall as it has been parked the last 3 years. But it may have to wait...V:I:

ok First off this is really cool to see a Ruger #1 chambered for .303 Brit, but I have to ask, why? Don't get me wrong I have a closet full of .303 brits, but I admit it's is more about the history of those firearms than the cartridge itself. Love it as I do, I have to admit it is a "slightly" obsolete cartridge that if there still weren't so many Lee Enfield sporters floating about would have gone the way of .455 Webley.

I'd say you answered your own question.

It's cool, has a history here in Canada, people love it here, and it's the first time it's been chambered in a new commercial firearm in a loooong time.

it's all about the fun..I've got more than enough rifles to hunt for the rest of my life, I don't *need* another hunting rifle. I was it because it will be fun:dancingbanana:
