Ruger #1 303 BRITISH 'News'

ok First off this is really cool to see a Ruger #1 chambered for .303 Brit, but I have to ask, why? Don't get me wrong I have a closet full of .303 brits, but I admit it's is more about the history of those firearms than the cartridge itself. Love it as I do, I have to admit it is a "slightly" obsolete cartridge that if there still weren't so many Lee Enfield sporters floating about would have gone the way of .455 Webley.

this thread is for news on the arrival of these fine blends of wood, steel, and a nostalgic canadian hunting cartridge... not to answer stupid questions ;)

(go to the 375 ruger thread for that ;) )

Ruger #1 .303 British

I for one am really looking forward to this rifle and I'd like to thank Clay for making this possible. Also thanks to all the other members who have supported this project from the beginning and followed through with ordering. As for the "non-believer's"?, go find another thread.

Got a name for yours yet? Heard SuperCub was going with "Mr. Slippears"...

On the idea of collector value how is the value of the Winchester 1895's in .303 doing? And I have a new box of Winchester 218 Bee ammo. 50 rounds in the old white box with red and orange stripes. Can't seem to get rid of it around here.

Depending on condition and caliber, 1895 Winchester's range from $650-1.000 in my area. Any in .303 I've seen had really bad bores due to corrosive ammo.

Not going to happen in my opinion, this will be like the .218 Bee No.1's. I just sold my last one for $1600, that's a touch more than they used to retail for. :p Rare, collectable No.1's hold value better than most new factory guns.

Well that settles it. I dont want one - new or used.
