Why a rebore rather than rebarrel? Honestly curious.
I thought reboring was expensive and very specialized...
Less money, and a good option for rifles like the #1 with extractor cuts, ribs, sights, rebluing, etc that would need to be fitted to a fresh tube - pushing the cost of fitting up.

If I wanted to do a similar thing with .308 to 358 win how much "meat" would the barrel need? Would it be better or worse to use a .243 as a donor?
