Ruger #1 Value

can an "S" not have a 26" barrel? I believe mine in 7mm rem mag does.

Does yours have the AH forearm or the SB... are there sights on the barrel? If it has the SB forearm and 26" barrel with no sights, then it is a "B" not an "S"...

Ruger 1S 26" medium weight barrel , Alex Henry fore end ,open sites .

Except for the 45-70 which the standard S medium contour barrel was made in 22" length, though Lipsey's made a small run of 26" S medium barrel 45-70 just recently.

1S were produced from 1967 when the #1 was first introduced .

Standard production since 1970 in 7mm Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag, 45-70 22" . 338 Win Mag was introduced in 1979

As well in the mid 80's a few others were produced in 218 Bee and 38x55 .

Seeing as how we're talking "values"......I picked up a #1V in .300 Win Mag a few years ago. I'm curious as to it's value and rarity.
I bought it not knowing it was a "V" configuration!!!
Thanks for the help.

Mike,

From 1967 - 72 #1 could be produced in almost any configuration. These early guns did not a have prefix in front of the serial # . ie: no 131,132, 133 - and then the serial #. If non prefix the rarity and value increase.

1V in 300 Win were regular production rifles from 1973-1978.

Overall Condition will be your biggest factor, likely anywhere from $800.00 - $1200.00, conditon and rarity will drive the price.
