Ruger 10/20 takedown magazine question

Picked one of these up at Sail.ca today. Looks like such a fun durable low-maintenance rifle. Really seems idiot proof stainless steel and synthetic stock. It's also light as heck, compared to Mosins, svts, mauser and SKS'S lol have not shot it yet and hope it shoots strait cause they nailed it with everything else. The kit even included a sling, cable lock, rail for mounting something. Funny the bag advertises for the 25rds now prohibited magazines. Ad specifically tells you the bag was designed to hold 6 banana mags lol.

Anyway I am new to rim fires entirely only using milsurp and shotguns before. What magazines are available for this rifle now that the laws are banning larger than 10rds. Best I've seen is ruger mags for about $36 at basspro. Is there a dealer in the GTA that carries options in stock? I would like to get 2 more mags or this little rifle.

you can get the banana mags you just need to pinn them at 10rds.
im sure this change of the 25rd mags will be changed back eventually.

there is also ruger 25x2 mags, marstar was selling them.
 
They are out there less than 36. The tri mag adapters are handy as well. I don't think they have been prohibited yet. There are 10rd banana mags at the big box and some site sponsors have them as well. If you are stuck on 10 rounders for the time being nothing works as well as the oem Ruger mags
 
ive been shooting 10/22's since 1984 and i can tell ya without a word of a lie that no other magazine will run as good in your ruger than the stock ruger 10rd mag.
 
That's what I just did actually. Never ordered from them before, in store pick up Oct 6th... good price actually from what I've seen too.
 
I ordered some 10 round stand Ruger mags last month from Canadian Tire and they got back a few weeks later to let me know they are no longer carrying 10 round ruger mags.

X2. Have lots 25 shot styles. Don't like any of them.

I thought it was only the bx22 mags that were prohibited.
 
Anything over 10rds for 10/22 is the new law from what I understand. Meh the 10s are small and could probably fit nearly a dozen in the cool bag the take down comes in... only thing this rifle doesn't have out of box are sling swivels which really it's less than 5lbs so could carry it all day.

I can tell this rifle will be a versatile keeper, quality wise this is a great 22 if not a bit expensive but better than the competition
I also considered Zastava 22lr (thought it would be better), STG (looks cool but impractical long term), Henry survival rifle ( toss up here) 10/22 has a good rep and the attached ts fit in so well fast and easy on the Ruger.

Stainless and synthetic. Should be able to wash with dish soap and dry with air compressor?? Can't wait to abuse the heck out of it.

you probably could, but dont, haha!

just hit it with some G96 Gun Treatment right now, spray it down and let it soak up the foam for like 2 minutes than just towel it off and leave it.
after that just hit it with G96 when it get really dirty - which wont be much.
that way the gun will absorb the G96 and keep it oiled nicely AND as a added bonus it will never freeze up on you (not sure if you plink in the winter).
 
Got my cancellation notice from Canadian Tire today, no 10/22 mags at Can Tire. Funny they offer you nothing no coupon just sorry your sale is cancelled several weeks later.
