Ruger 10/22 50th Anniversary Contest Winner - am I one of the first

Wow...in just 3 days since you placed the order? That was fast....What's the damange after all said and done?

Btw... Congrats on the nice looking 22

It was $389 US plus $45 or so Canadian for tax and shipping.

Of course, more money than a regular stainless/plastic 10/22 but the stock is a lot nicer and the rail is better than the plasticy one I remember from my old 10/22. The flash-hider seems a bit silly on a .22LR but it doesn't bother me.

Overall, I am happy :)

Is that a rear peep sight? Any pictures of the front sight and flash hider? Maybe you could use shoot thru rings with it. Neat rifle all around.

I have the same rifle from IRG's currently enroute with CanPar . Will be joining this 50th Anniversary model that I picked up a month ago.

My Destroyer model is also a 50th Anniversary Special with few dealers getting them, but your title suggests some sort of design contest that I'm not aware about.

I love 10/22's, but a flash hider on one? Hmmm... no thanks.

Hope you enjoy it though; it's fun to own commemorative models. I'd dearly love a Model 70 Jack O'Connor.

All 10/22s this year say "50th anniversary" but there is only one "50th anniversary contest model".

Partly correct, there is only one 50th anniversary contest model as shown by original posting. There is a production run of models marked both on the receiver and bolt as 50 year 1964 - 2014 models but not all produced in 2014 are so marked.

From Rugers website:

50th Anniversary
All 2014 production Ruger® 10/22® rifles feature limited time bolt marking, commemorative boxes and "The Ruger 10/22 Rifle • 22 LR - Fifty Years • 1964-2014" special receiver marking.

Curious to know how that fits when shouldered?
How many Pesos?
Looks dewable.

In N.S. this ran around $440.00 and taxes. Sold my 10-22's years ago and went to the Remington 66's, 552's and 597's to fill the .22 semi itch. Since I didn't have a 10-22 or a stainless .22 rifle in the rack decided to add a pair of these Anniversary models.

I'm 6'3" and fits the shoulder just like it belongs there. I like the straight stock.

Well a thank you to IRUNGUNS on the arrival of my 10-22 50th Anniversary contest winning rifle joining the other Anniversary model in the bottom of the pic. Do like the synthetic stock for both it's adult sized LOP and the inclusion of a second assembly with higher comb for using a scope.

I picked one up from IRG and was impressed with how quick they got it to me. Went and zeroed it in last night at the range I put a Vortex Diamondback 2-7x35 Rimfire on it and have it set up with the higher comb. Now I can't wait to go and destroy some gophers with it. Definately very please with it.

I got one of the black takedown models, and it just happened to also have the anniversary markings on it. If I wasn't away right now I'd take photos.

The flash hider is to protect the crown. The designer teaches kids how to shoot and the barrel tips were getting banged up and put in the dirt. He chose it purely for pragmatic reasons, not for faux tactical.

He should teach the little pricks to keep the barrel out of the dirt.
