Ruger 10/22 /butler creek 25 mag problems

Hey guys,
Took my shiny new 10/22 to the range today. Bought two 'butler creek' 25 round mags for it when i picked it up. Got the steel lipped version. Nothin but problems. The factory ten round mag feeds perfect. Seems like the lips on the 'bc' mags are way longer than the ruger mag. It also seems like the rounds have trouble pushing their way up. Am I alone on this one? :confused:
 
What ammo? The only probs I ever had with steel lips mags is with yellow jackets and laser ammo. Anything square bullet has issues in my 10/22. All bulk Winchester works flawlessly

federal, champion, HP, 36gr, copper plated, 525 round pack. I think it might be a mag problem here. I could see it failing to feed and failing to strip even when the next round was at the top.

This seems to be a common problem. I had an issue with the springs in mine pushing the rounds up. However someone suggested just using them and letting them break in. I dont seem to be having the same issue any more. The spring just seemed sticky at first but now they work fine. I personaly hae never had any issues stripping the next round when it was at the top.

Theres also a sticky in this forum I think that says something about filing a bit off. I didnt have to do this but if you read a couple of the stickies you should be able to find it
 
I bought two, one works perfect, the second would not work with more then 10 rounds in it, not enough spring tennsion. I put major amount of wd-40 into it, plus I was pushing mag fallower with a stick to make it move better. Knock on wood it works now

Careful with the WD-40 - it gums up over time. I think something like a graphite lube would be a better choice.
