If you'd like to add to your 10/22 mag collection -- specifically those hard-to-find clear mags -- here's your big chance @ $24.98 each.
Boxing Week deal on at Cabelas.ca: h ttps://www.cabelas.ca/product/42491/ruger-1022-clear-22-lr-magazine . Free shipping on orders over $99 i.e. buy 4 and you get shipping thrown in.
If you're buying them to dye 'em, you might think again: h ttp://tincanbandit.########.ca/2016/03/dying-magazine-for-ruger-1022.html . It ain't as easy as it used to be according to some. YMMV.
BTW The cheapest place to buy the normal black BX-1 mags is Bass Pro. The 3-packs there are $59.99 = $20 each [SKU# 2413466]. Bass Pro also carries the tri-mag connector, the Alangator, for $15.99 so you can LEGALLY fit three magazines together for a grand total of 30 rounds [SKU# 1864745]. Cabelas sells a Tactical Solutions tri-mag for the ungodly price of $29.99 (Wanstalls has it for ten bucks cheaper). I've always used the Alangator -- it was first on the market, the best, the cheapest and you can also buy nylon belt pouches for it on eBay.
For dual mag set-ups, Brownells sells two versions of magazine couplers. The original one by E&L is demonstrated here by "Shoktroop", a hardcore 10/22 guy (who knocks off rabbits at 280yds with CCI Velocitors): h ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOL_LYpuilM . I've got mine JB Welded together using his technique but the newer High Tower Armory coupler using an allen key is shown here vs the Alangator: h ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XV7ZAjNmWg . The Tandemkross -- also available at Brownells as the "Double Kross" magazine body -- is another go at the same theme but makes you take the mags apart and refit them to their frame. No, thanks! I'd use the HTA rig today if I was setting up a dual mag coupler for the first time. No mess, no fuss and the mags can be separated for cleaning or maintenance.
***For comparison sake on magazine cost, Cdn Tire has the clear mags regularly priced @ $32.39 and the black @ $23.69 .
