Ruger 10-22 Cambodian Tire(Selkirk MB)

Yeah, I think the whole Cambodian tire thing is supposed to be calling out the cheap made in Asia (China mostly, but Chinese tire doesn't have a nice ring to it) stuff they sell. I don't think most people are trying to insult Cambodians, but that is certainly an unintended side effect... I usually just call it crappy tire, but I'm sure other stuff comes out too...

Now, as for those prices in the OP that's something else! Some of the CTs around here sell guns, and they certainly don't have good prices, but they're not double + what real stores sell em for...

^yeah, agreed, and the trend towards all off-shore-made stuff, race-to-the-bottom $ mentality is why I don't even shop at places like Walmart. Canadian Tire isn't much better. It's why companies like the one I work with are in a constant battle to stay alive~our customers are moving to goods made in China mostly. We're (meaning, Canadian manufacturers) are held to a WAY higher standard, and are never given enough time to complete projects...yet the same customers will accept sub-standard goods that take 5X longer to get if they can save $2 on them. No good!

Anyhow, point made I guess. :)

Cannot see myself buying a rifle at CDN tire when there are so many other places to pick up wpns from people who know a lot more about the product. The fact that none of their sales associates have told management how out of place these prices are speaks volumes.
It must be that particular store. I have scored quite a few very good deals @ CT. Just need to know what you're after, set the price target, and watch for deals.

The people working there likely don’t have a clue what the guns are worth. Its a minimum wage job and you get what you pay for. Sometimes it’s to our advantage finding great prices because they screwed up.

Heck for 350$ I’d buy a Dlask any day. Way better value.

I am pretty sure I saw examples of some of the worst condition Russian capture K98s for a measly $1200 at the same Canadian tire.

Most if not all of the guys behind the gun counter at our Canadian tire store are range members and gun loonies as well.
There are some good deals and if you are looking for Berger bullets for example, RCBS and Hornady loading gear, that stuff is there as well.
I was able to buy Creedmoor dies and brass there as well as they have up to 50 BMG components too!

I was at a Canadian Tire while I was away from home working. They had some rifles priced decent, others were way out to lunch. I talked to a manager about it and didn’t seem to care. He told me that each individual store decides what/if they want to carry anything above and beyond a basic ammunition selection, right up to what Cat has. They also, for the most part, set prices in store, not corporate level, for the firearms themselves.

Typically I do find them to be on the expensive side on most things, but cheaper than online after you factor in shipping. I just won’t buy firearms there anymore.

I would think those may be the heavy barrel target model, they are close to that range, mind you the " target" is wishful thinking.

My local CTC ( Georgetown , Ont. ) has not had this , but a week or two ago they did have most of their
guns on sale . Maybe sales have been down ? They have a good selection .

My local one changed hands after Xmas, and every day was a different deal, I picked up a scout at 50% and a 77 stainless at less than 50% , Chappia 92 357Mag at 50%
The Winchester stuff was not in that price range , about 30% off, I depended on how long it was in stock.
If new stock, it was returned, so old stock blown out.
I'm waiting until the guns get the same 70% off deal that the Paderno frying pans and other overpriced crap gets.
