Looking at buying a 10/22 and I live close to the border...from what i am reading is we cant get ruger 10/22 25 shot clips in canada? I live close to the border is it legal to buy them in the states and bring them across,And are 22 rimfire 25 shot clips legal to use here? I am sure there are lots of posts regarding this but I am fairly new to this sight and cant seem to find one...

You are correct that the Ruger BX25 mags are prohibited in Canada. Not only would it be illegal to purchase one of these mags in the States and bring it across the border, it's illegal to purchase most firearms accessories (prohibited or not) and bring across the border without going through the necessary legal procedures to properly import.

There are manufacturers that make 25 round magazines that are legal in Canada. HC Tactical, Butler Creek, Tactical Innovations. These are all legal options available for purchase.

What's a clip :)

Ok I deserved that one.....in your humble opinions which of the 25 rd magazines would any of you fine folks suggest.Ive never had a semi .22 I am still using my grandfathers early 1900s jga single....and a couple old cooeys.Time to upgrade.

Butler Creek Steel Lips are sort of the standard by which all others are judged. NOT the Hot Lips... That said everybody likes different ones, the only ones that are prohibited unless pinned are the 25 rounders made by Ruger which of course are the best IMHO

The BX25s are the best, but a no-no here. Next best I have tried are butler creek steel lips, followed by promag aa922's. I have heard of others having issues with the promags but I have never had an issue with them.
